Member Spotlight: GEP Sustainability and Project Coordinator

Jill Harris is the Project and Sustainability Coordinator for the Grinnell Education Partnership (GEP). Before joining the staff in this capacity, Jill served for 32 years as a public educator. During most of her career, Jill taught music education and directed choirs at Grinnell Middle School. Jill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from William Penn University. Now in her third year with GEP, Jill previously served as the AmeriCorps Skills Gap Taskforce Coordinator for two stints for the GEP.


In her new role, Jill hopes to continue to advocate for equitable and excellent educational opportunities for children from cradle to career.

This year, Jill’s responsibilities include:

  • Moving GEP community partner projects to sustainability for community impact in the long term

  • Initiating project planning for emerging needs
