AmeriCorps Week is March 7 to March 13th, and we thought we'd start the week by sharing some “Fun Facts” about the GEP-AmeriCorps Partnership over the past six years of service!
This is the 6th year for the GEP AmeriCorps program, and we are currently planning for year 7!

Total Number of AmeriCorps members since 2015: 163
Of the 163 total AmeriCorps members,
16 members served 2 terms
6 members have served 3 service terms
2 members served 4 service terms

Since 2015, 27 individuals have served GEP in the roles of Task Force Coordinators, After School Enrichment Aides, and now a brand new role - GEP Planner. The 2020-2021 school year marks the first year of GEP's incorporation of the AmeriCorps VISTA program, which has provided members who are focused completely on capacity building in a full-time service role. This year our AmeriCorps team embraces the best of both worlds: 5 capacity building VISTA members and 1 member performing direct service with students in the after-school engagement role.
Stay tuned this week! We will be posting every day of AmeriCorps Week to share service highlights from our current AmeriCorps members!
